When should I start with Electrolysis?
It is important to start your journey with Electrolysis at least 9 to 12 months prior to your surgery date , the process is completed in block sessions with a 6-week break between them. Electrolysis treatment is completed over a longer time period as we must work with the body’s natural hair cycles, this will be explained in more detail during your consultation at The London Transgender Clinic. -
Is it painful?
Electrolysis can be uncomfortable especially in more delicate areas, The London Transgender Clinic offers local anaesthetic which is administered and monitored under the care of our nurses to ensure that your treatment is as comfortable as possible. -
Can Electrolysis be performed on the face?
The clinic also carries out facial hair removal by Electrolysis, this treatment is not restricted by hair type or colour as it targets the follicle and not the hair so it is suitable for blonde, white and red hair and all skin types and as long as your treatment is completed as directed by your practitioner will result in permanent results. During your consultation an individual treatment plan will be discussed with you.

I went to LTC for a hormone consultation and initially felt really nervous after waiting years to get to this point in my life.
Everyone I met was lovely and during my consultation Shirley was brilliant. Right from the start of the appointment she made me feel really comfortable and was really easy to talk to. Shirley was very informative which helped me decide which method of taking testosterone would be best suited for me. Best of all, I was given my prescription for T on that appointment!
