As we age, our skin loses elasticity and fat. In combination with gravity, jowls, flat cheeks and lower eye bags can become visible. Changes to muscle and bone can also contribute. A specialist plastic surgery procedure known as face lift, or mini face lift, can address these concerns.

Reason for Surgery

The goal is to create a rejuvenated, more youthful appearance while still maintaining a natural appearance.

Benefits

Facelifting can be a very beneficial part of overall facial feminisation surgery to remove some of the aging male features. The result can improve self-confidence and boost self-esteem, allowing you to feel more comfortable in day to day interactions in your female gender.

Face Lift Surgery FAQ’s

  • How much does it cost?

The price of a full face lift is approximately £12,850 and the approximate price of a mini face lift is £7,610. This includes all of your pre and post operative aftercare up to one year, as well as your time in hospital stay. For an exact quotation please book a consultation with a member of our team.

  • What happens at the consultation?

You will meet your surgeon and one of our nurses who will ask you about your goals and concerns. A full medical history and examination will be done, before agreeing a plan for you and discussing the surgery and recovery and risks in detail.

You may be required to undergo medical investigations such as blood tests, ECG or other, as medically advised by your surgeon.

  • How do I prepare for my surgery?

Once you have your consultations and your surgery is booked, you will have a pre-operative assessment with your nurse 2 weeks before surgery, during which any outstanding questions will be answered. Your preparation for surgery will be reviewed and information will be provided regarding medications, diet, and post operative care.

You will not need to stop your hormone therapy.

You must stop smoking a minimum of 2 weeks before your surgery and up to 12 weeks postoperatively.

  • What happens on the day of my surgery?

On the day of your surgery you will attend the hospital where your surgery is taking place.

You will be reassessed by your surgeon and your anaesthetist before going to the theatre.

The hospital team will complete the necessary pre-operative health checks.

Following your surgery, you will be bed bound and closely monitored by the hospital medical team. They will assist you with anything you need. You will be tired and spend most of this time resting.  You will be provided with something to eat when you are alert and slowly mobilised with assistance.

Once you are awake and mobile, you will be discharged from the hospital to your home. You must have a chaperone to bring you home and stay with you for a minimum of 24 hours.

  • What aftercare will be provided for me?

LTC provides a premium aftercare service. You will be assessed 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months and 1 year post operatively to monitor your progress. You will be provided with post operative manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) therapy to reduce swelling and promote better healing.

LTC also has a nurse on call 24/7 in the event you have any emergencies following discharge from hospital. You will be seen immediately if medically required or appropriate advice will be provided.

  • What happens if there is a complication?

In the event of a complication you will be medically assessed as soon as possible by your surgeon or a qualified member of our nursing team. In the unlikely event you need to return to the theatre this will be arranged for you by our team. Hospital and anaesthetist fees may be charged, however there will be no surgical fee. Further information is outlined in our terms and conditions.

“I have got a new face!”

Written onApril 30, 2019

I went to the London Transgender Clinic for Hormones and Face Feminisation Surgery.

In both cases they were fantastic! In getting hormone treatment they were both sympathetic and very helpful. I thought that they were both thorough and professional.

The surgery went well and with very little or no pain. I have had no problems during recovery.

I now have a lower hair line, higher eyebrows, a much thinner neck, no bags around my eyes, a new, more feminine, nose and a general face lift.

I look at least ten years younger as well as more female.

This has been a huge boast to my confidence and I would recommend the London Transgender Clinic to anyone.

I plan to go back for more surgery if possible.
