Dr. Dmitri Popelyuk – Consultant Adult Psychiatrist
Dr Popelyuk is a Consultant Psychiatrist based in Harley Street, who provides easy and reliable access to diagnosis, effective treatment and the best patient experience for people suffering from mental health problems. He is a Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine and a member of BSSM (British Society for Sexual Medicine) and the UK Gender Recognition Panel.
Dr Popelyuk studied medicine at Odessa Medical University and trained in psychiatry at the Maudsley and Royal Free Hospitals in London, specialising in general adult psychiatry, rehabilitation psychiatry, personality disorders, psychotherapy and psychosexual medicine.
He believes in the continuity of patient care. Therefore, provides assessment and treatment in any setting, whether it is at the patient’s home, outpatients clinic or in hospital.
With over 15 years of providing care for people with psychiatric conditions, he has the knowledge and experience to treat the full range of mental health conditions in adults.
Regardless of the type or the causes of the problem, Dr Popelyuk believes in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms of a disease.
Dr Popelyuk offers advice and support to people with issues about the expression of their gender who are at the early stages of considering how they might want to proceed.
Dr Popelyuk says “sometimes the discomfort or distress caused by this mismatch is so strong that a person feels the need to seek help in order to discuss their feelings and receive diagnosis and support from an experienced professional in this field.”
