Am I a suitable candidate?
If you have an unwanted Tattoo then we may be able to help!
According to a recent poll, almost a quarter (23%) of people regret getting their tattoo. Common reasons include the design being poorly executed, a change in personal taste, or having the name of a partner tattooed who is no longer on the scene. The treatment works well on light skin and Dark tattoos due to the nature of the laser.
What does the treatment involve?
The laser breaks the ink particles beneath the skin it to small fragments, these small particles are now small enough for your body to remove and dispose of. The larger fragments that can not be removed on this session are isolated by the body ready to be removed on your next session, this is why you require several sessions.
What are the benefits?
Lasers are the most effective and safe way to remove unwanted Tattoos but it is possible there may be a small amount of pigment left behind , they remove tattoos with minimal amounts of scarring , compared to other methods such as liquid solutions or surgical removal.
What equipment do you use?
We use the Harmony XL laser it is a multi platform laser. All patient require a test patch before a full treatment.
What are the post treatment instructions?
Keep your tattoo dry for 24 hours, avoid soaking the area in water for long periods, avoid sun exposure, if the area scabs do not pick the skin cells as this will increase the risk of scarring.
How many treatments do I need?
This depends on the individual, there are so many things to consider in the removal process, quality of Ink and needles used and experience of the tattooist are just a small factor.
An Average Armature Tattoos are easier to remove from 1-6 Treatments Professional Tattoos are deeper in the skin and can take 8-12 sessions , sometimes more or less sessions depending on the factors mentioned above.
With very large Tattoos depending on the size they may have to be removed by sections.
Treatments are carried out every 8-10 weeks.
Are there any contraindications?
A full medical history is taken prior to proceeding
Treatments can not be preformed if you have been in the sun for the past 6 weeks this increases the colour of your skin and the laser is attracted to colour rather than the ink, if you have excessive hair this needs to be removed before the treatment.
