It is amazing how fast time has gone by to the point that having a flat chest is something that I take for granted much of the time now, it has just become part of who I am.

Less than two years ago I was extremely uncomfortable with my chest and taking steps towards life changing process. And the process took a lot of time, energy, patience that I didn't know I had, and resources.

To think that this now means that I no longer have to endure binding and feel comfortable and confidence is otherworldly.

I will say that for me, having top surgery before T was the best move for me because my chest dysphoria was so intense and crippling. This is only my opinion, relating to me but I think I would have struggled a lot more having been on T for a while and then having top surgery.

As I see it I was pruning my body and preparing it for the big changes that I would bring. I am aware that a majority of trans guys do it the other way around and this works for them - it is also possible that top surgery wasn't an option at the time - but way to their own.

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about what it means to be queer/trans and how I relate to that identity. Three years ago it was my entire personality, an hour wouldn’t go by where I wasn’t thinking of how I was acting, what I was wearing and what people thought of me.

I didn’t realise until recently how long it has been since I thought any of that. I often feel I am not entitled to the trans marker or queer identity because I benefit from male privilege and cis passing privilege. Deep down I know this is silly and that will always remain who I am (even if I forget sometimes!)

These two years have been the most relieving of my life. I worry about very little regarding how I am perceived anymore and don’t have to worry about how well I pass or what people will think, even with these scars which play no real significance to mine, or anyone’s, opinion of me.

I currently live a simple and happy life and being trans doesn’t ever hinder that, and it’s great. 👍🏼 10/10 would recommend." — @itssambailey
